Hooksett Kiwanis is a volunteer organization of women and men dedicated to improving the lives of children in the community and around the world.

February 21st 2018 Meeting

Hooksett Kiwanis takes pride in providing leadership opportunities to middle and high school children. To help accomplish this, we are very proud to sponsor...

  • Kiwanis Builders Club of 75 members at Cawley Middle School,
  • Builders Club at Hillside Middle School in Manchester with 50 members,
  • Kiwanis Key Club of 125 members at Manchester Central High School.

Hooksett Kiwanis also sponsors a Hooksett Community Food Pantry and Kid's Kloset where families can receive food and clothing at no cost. Please see tabs at left for additional information about these programs.

The Club's signature project is maintaining walking and biking trails at Head's Pond in Hooksett, including resurfacing nearly all of the 1.5 mile Head's Pond Trail from Route 3 to the Great Pond.

The Kiwanis Club of Hooksett meets for dinner on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM at  the function room at New England's Tap House restaurant.  Guests are always welcome. news imageMark Blasco - CEO Owner of Chucksters - Guest Speaker at Jan. 17 Meeting - 1/17/2018

Mark Blasco was the featured speaker for our January 16th meeting.  He is the CEO and owner of several miniature golf courses called Chucksters, including the one which he most recently developed and opened here in Hooksett. Besides his miniature golf endeavors, he managed the Gunstock and Waterville Valley Ski Resorts,  and started Shirtmasters – a Custom Apparel Business. When asked by the audience what he considered to be the particular selling feature of Chucksters, he indicated that, unlike other sports venues, miniature golf is accessible to everyone, not just to athletes.

news imageGayla Bartlett Featured Speaker at New Member Orientation - 1/6/2018

The Hooksett Library hosted the annual new members orientation with the charming Gayla Bartlett and Kay Maurice from the Danvers Kiwanis Club as our special guests.  Gayla delivered a dynamic presentation on the subject of  "Content that the Media will Love". An integral part of her presentation included a break-out session during which small groups drafted a sample press release, featuring an impactful story about the local Kiwanis club.  Frank Kotowski rounded out the morning's training session with a fascinating history of Kiwanis as well as the many and varied ways in which members can get involved in Hooksett Kiwanis.

news imageJudy Barrett receives The Gift of Kiwanis Award - 1/4/2018

Thanks to Judy's phenomenal work as advisor to the Builders and Key Clubs, programs and membership are flourishing. She is also the recent recipient of the well-deserved Outstanding Lt. Governor Award for her outstanding tenure as Lt. Governor in 2017. She's always to be found volunteering for Kiwanis events and initiatives and is already off to a record start as this year's (2017-18) Builders Club Administrator. She inspires commitment, hard work, and enthusiasm for all that she does both personally and professionally. She's a model Kiwanian and is assuredly well-deserving of this "Gift of Kiwanis Award" [Get more info on this award].

Hooksett Kiwanis Named NH's Outstanding Volunteer Group

For the second time in the past four years, Hooksett Kiwanis has received a group service award. It is the only NH service club to be so honored. The award recognizes the volunteer work of Hooksett Kiwanis in operating the local Food Pantry, a Kid’s Kloset providing free clothing to needy children, sponsorship of three Youth Service Clubs with about 200 members, maintenance of walking trails in the community, hosting an annual awards event for community leaders, and numerous other community service projects. Together these represent about 3,000 volunteer hours of service. All of this volunteer work is completed by Hooksett Kiwanis with no Executive Director or paid staff.
