Hooksett Kiwanis Kids' Kloset ~ Serving the Children of Hooksett

Kids Kloset

Mission

The Kids’ Kloset provides “gently worn” clothing to children, to enhance their self- esteem and quality of life.  It was established several years ago by the Hooksett Kiwanis Foundation to help children in the Hooksett community.

Location

The Kids’ Kloset is located at the Hooksett Town Offices at 35 Main Street, and is open only during certain hours.

Hours of Operation

The Kids’ Kloset is normally open on the first Monday night of each month from 6:00pm to 7:30pm and families on the list are notified by postcard or e-mail each month.

Emergency Help

If you have an emergency need, contact the Hooksett Department of Family Services at 603-485-8769.

Who is Eligible?

The Kids’ Kloset is currently open to help any child in Hooksett who needs clean school and play clothes. All families are treated with respect and privacy regardless of their personal situation.

There is a great assortment of teen clothes, too, so teens are encouraged and welcome to come check out the Kloset. Contact Family Services at 603-485-8769 and ask to be added to the contact list.

Donations

Children’s new and used clothes are greatly appreciated.  They must be clean, as we have no laundering facilities.

History:

The Kids’ Kloset began by focusing on the needs of school-age children. This includes young children through young adults. Usable clothing includes jeans, shirts, tops, dresses, clean shoes and boots, jackets, and ski pants.

Infant and baby clothes are also accepted, as there may be other children in the family. Usable items include outfits, formula, and diapers. No baby equipment such as strollers, jumpers, or bassinettes can be accepted due to unknown recalls and safety issues.
